General Use
Used to assess the level of magnesium.
Levels too low or too high can cause severe health issues. Magnesium deficiency is associated with several disorders and disease states and can cause cardiac arrhythmias.
Patients with chronic renal disease will typically have an increased magnesium, as well as patients taking magnesium antacid medication and patients with other diseases and conditions.

Special Instructions
Let clot for 10-20 minutes. After the sample is fully clotted, centrifuge the sample. Verify complete separation of cells and serum and refrigerate.
